LAT Test 2020  How to become a Lawyer in Pakistan In this website i am going to tell what is LAT Test , eligibility criteria, test date, duration, syllabus  and registration process for LAT test.

What is LAT ?

LAT stands for law admission test. As per order dated 6, March 2018 passes by honourable supreme court, the admission in public and private sector universities and their valid affiliated law colleges, henceforth will be subject to passing law admission test which will be conducted by HEC. The test will be for admission in five year/ 3 years LLB programs.


Eligibility criteria for Law Admission Test (LAT):-

1. Students who have passed the higher Secondary school certificate (HSSC) or Equivalent.

2. Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or equivalent, waiting for their result.

It is mandatory to pass LAT Test in order to secure admission in LLB (five years under semester system) either in private or public sector institute.


Duration:-

Duration of test will be expected 2 hours..It will be informed at test centers.


Registration date:-

Previous year regeneration date for test was 23 June 2019 and January 15, 2020.



How many times LAT test is conducted in a year?

Twice in a year.


LAT Syllabus

Test Pattern for LAT is discussed bellow



l Written portion consist of 25 Marks which includes two questions, Essay and Personal Statement

l MCQ’s Portion consist of 75 Marks



Multiple Choice Questions:-



20 marks - English (Synonyms/ Antonyms/ Preposition)

20 marks - General Knowledge

10 marks - Islamic Studies

10 marks - Pak Studies

10 marks - Urdu

05 marks - Mathematics



Subjection:-

15 marks - Essay (minimum 200 words)

10 marks - Personal Statement either in Urdu or English (minimum 200 words)



Passing marks:-

Passing Marks for LAT Are 50 out of 100











How to Register for LAT:-

Ø Visit the link http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration.
Ø Application submission comprises of two steps, i.e., profile completion using "My Profile" section and application submission using "Law Admission Test" link on menu panel in the left hand side bar of online portal
Ø Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for LAT Test and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.

Fee for LAT Test 2020:-

Ø Test Fee of Rs.500/- is to be deposited Online/ ATM or through Bank Draft in Account No: 1742 7900 133401. Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 1742
Ø Applicants are required to send a copy of Fee Deposit Slip/ ATM/ Online Transfer or Original Bank Draft through courier at the address: 13-209, 2nd Floor, HRD Building, HEC, Sector H-8, Islamabad on or before the last date of registration.
Ø Please mention your CNIC number at the backside of the Deposit Slip/Bank Draft
Ø The Test Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
